Laying upon the theme 'Yoga for Vashudhaiva Kutumbakam', the 9th International Yoga day was observed at Lakhimpur Commerce College, organized by Physical and Mental Wellness Cell, NSS Cell of Lakhimpur Commerce College and Vivekananda Study Centre in colloboration with North East Yogashan Training and Physical Health Care Centre. Principal of the college, Dr. Lohit Hazarika inaugurated the programme who threw light on the importance of yoga. In the programme, Yoga demonstration was conducted by Yoga Instructor, Govin Saikia of North East Yogashan Training and Physical Health Care Center and Priyaka Hazarika, a student of the college. Dr. Harini Patowari Das, Assistant Professor of the College, spoke about how the practice of yoga helps in the physical and mental development of teachers and students. The yoga practice was attended by Dr. Rupjyoti Bhattacharjee, Prof. Mridusmita Hazarika, other faculty members, non-teaching staff and students of the college.
