A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Departments of Sociology of Lakhimpur Commerce College and that of Panigaon Om Prakash Dinodia College with the objective of brader cooperation and collaboration by the departments of both the college while implementing the provisions of New Education Policy (NEP)-2020. The MoU was signed by Prof. Banti Bhuyan, HoD-Sociology, POPD College, Panigaon and Prof. Mahesh Chandra Dutta, acting HoD-Sociology, Lakhimpur Commerce College in presence of Principal Dr. Lohit Hazarika. The singed MoU proposes to have faculty exchange for the benefit of both the institutions, collaboration in teaching and research, extend necessary support to deliver lectures to the students of the other institution, exchange of academic materials and publications, to organize seminars, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes, joint Short Term Courses on topics of mutual interests.
The MoU also aims to have exchange of students between the two institutions, exchange of students' projects, study materials, learning materials and other relevant literature for their educational and research programmes, to jointly organize students' training programmes, career counseling and access to library and laboratory facilities including e-resources of both the colleges for a limited period.
Cultural exchange provisions have also been included in the MoU signed by the two institutions today. These include the provision for cultural and intellectual enrichment opportunities for students and staff, to promote respect and better understanding for other cultures while strengthening relations and to send students' groups not exceeding 20 people to visit, perform and other purposes as often as possible.
