Dr Bhupen Hazarika remembered on his 97th birth anniversary at Lakhimpur Commerce College today. A function was organized for that occasion by the college in association with the All Lakhimpur Music Association. Principal Dr Lohit Hazarika initiated the function by lighting a lamp before the portrait of Dr. Hazarika followed by a floral tribute by Prof. GK Chetry, the Vice Principal. Prof. Sazzad Hussain, Kuldeep Narayan Dutta, librarian Runjun Baruah and Dr. Swapnali Chetia of North Lakhimpur College addressed the gathering at the function of shedding lights on the diverse aspects of the life and work of the Sudhakantha. Songs were rendered by veteran artist Mridul Baruah and Anneswa Chetia in that function.
