Workshop on Awareness of Cyber Security

A workshop on creating awareness on cyber security was held in Lakhimpur Commerce College on 27th May 2022 at 11 am in Room no 5. It was organised by the Diepartment of HigherEducation, Govt. of Assam in collaboration with Gratia Technology. The workshop started with the Principal Dr. Lohit Hazarika taking the chair and delivering his welcome address. In his speech he emphasised on the significance of creating awareness and knowledge regarding cyber security among the young generation who are very active on social media. The objective of the workshop was narrated by Mrs. Mridusmita Hazarika, Assistant Professor of the Department of Assamese and member of Internal Security Cell.Mr Biju Pegu and Mr. Barun Pathak, certified hackers were invited as resource persons for the workshop.Mr Diganta Das, a member of the workshop  organising committee introduced the resource persons  to the audience . The session was an interactive one with the students enthusiastically responding to different queries of the resource persons. The discussion was both informative and interesting and mainly focussed on cyber security and hacking problems and issues in different social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and also bank accounts and mobile hacking. The resource persons mainly alerted the users regarding the necessity of identifying the Google links clearly before clicking. If any issue of hacking is faced then it should be immediately informed to the authorised persons of cyber security. The workshop which was very significant and beneficial was attended by around 170 students and all the teaching and non -teaching members of the college. The entire Programme was anchored by Ms Mridusmita Hazarika. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by the Co-ordinator of the Internal Security and Cleanliness Committee
