Department of Commerce
•The department was started by Mr. Mahendra Hazarika and he was the founder HOD.
•Thereafter, on 12/12/1997, Mr. Amulya Borah joined as a faculty and retired on 31/12/2016.
•On 15/01/1995, Dr.Gunindra Nath Sarmah was appointed as faculty member of the Department. Later, he also served as HOD from 1st December, 2017 till 23rd September, 2022.
•On 24th September, 2022, another two Faculty members, namely Mr. Lakshyajit Shyam and Mr. Saurav Chakravarty, have been appointed in the Department.
•Presently, Mr. Lakshyajit Shyam is acting as HOD.
VISION:
To become recognized as a centre of excellence for assuring the quality of education by developing the necessary human resources, and to consequently contribute to the improvement of society and the growth of the country.
MISSION:
•To pursue academic excellence in teaching-learning activities.
•To pursue other extension activities.
•To introduce multi-disciplinary courses.
•Extensive use of technology in teaching.
•To incorporate extension activities in order to enhance social responsibility among the students.
•To impart knowledge of the subject to the students in order to equip them in academic and professional capability and develop among them analytical perspective.
