4.1.1: Availability of adequate infrastructure and physical facilities viz., classrooms, laboratories, ICT facilities, cultural activities, gymnasium, yoga centre etc. in the institution

 

 

Lakhimpur Commerce College has always strived to provide quality education which includes both curricular and co-curricular activities. It has two campuses, one in the middle of the town with all the main buildings and the other at Chukulibhoria, 3 kms away from the main campus with a sports complex. The institution has the following facilities for teaching- learning and co-curricular activities,

• Class Rooms: The college has 18 number of class rooms with reasonable facilities. Out of 18 number of class rooms, 5 classrooms have ICT enabled facilities for facilitating learning with the latest technologies. All class rooms are well planned, spacious, well-ventilated with electric lights and fans.
• Laboratory:- The college has two laboratories - One laboratory is meant for Education department for practical class with requisite equipments. The other is the Computer laboratory with 23 numbers of computer sets with internet facilities to carry out the practical classes of Computer Science course.
• Computing Equipment: The College has total 55 numbers computer sets with printing facilities in the Principal Office, 4 numbers of computer sets in IQAC room and 6 number of computer sets with printing facilities in library. All the departments have one computer set with Wi-Fi connection to carry out the departmental works.

· Administrative Block: The administrative block consists of the Principal’s office, Vice Principal office, Head Assistant’s room and the examination control room. There is a photocopy unit for students providing service at subsidized rates to the members of the college.

There are two Conference Halls, Teacher’s common room, Departmental rooms, Boys’ and Girls’ common room, Sick room, Student’s Union room, Alumni room and IQAC room.

·  Library: The Central Library of the college on the second floor of the main building is well stocked with adequate number of books and e- resources. There are Reading rooms for teachers and students, Librarian’s room, processing sections within the library.

· Outdoor and Indoor Sports Facilities: The college has a play ground at its Chukulibhoria campus, where outdoor sports activities like football, volley ball, cricket, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, discus throw, short put throw, running races are conducted. The indoor games activities such as badminton, table tennis, carom, chess, weight lifting, power lifting are conducted in the main campus.

· Facilities for Culture Activities:

The college doesn’t have a permanent auditorium for cultural activities but the multipurpose rooms of the college are used to facilitate the cultural programmes. For occasions like Freshers’ Social and Annual College Week makeshift arrangements are made within the premises.

· Gymnasium: The College provides a space to the students for carrying out activities related to Gymnasium and also provides minimum equipment for the purpose.

· Facilities for Yoga Centre: The College has a Yoga Kendra supported by Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Lakhimpur Sakha,  located at Khelmati , North Lakhimpur Town, where students  trained in Yoga and meditation by trained instructor.

· Other Infrastructural facilities : The college has Canteen Facilities, Drinking water facilities, parking facilities and a Health Centre.
