Proceeding of the Special Talk on “General Accounting and its Application” on the Occasion of International Accounting Day held at Lakhimpur Commerce College on 19-05-2022

On the occasion of International Accounting Day, the Department of Accountancy, Lakhimpur Commerce College has organized a Special Talk on General Accounting and its Application at Lakhimpur Commerce College, North Lakhimpur, Assam on 19th May 2022. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal, Lakhimpur Commerce College. The objectives of the talk were explained by Dr. Diganta Kr. Das, Assistant Professor of Accountancy Department of the College. Mr. Manish Rathi, Chartered Accountant and alumnus of Lakhimpur Commerce College attended the programme as the Resource Person. In his discussion he also explained about the different aspects of accounting and its application in modern life on business and other corporate life. He has also highlighted the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and its importance on today’s business world. A total of 147 numbers of students from B.Com. 2nd, 4th and 6th semester of Lakhimpur Commerce College were actively participated at the programme. An interaction session was also conducted between Mr. Rathi and the students. The talk was also attended by Sri Mahesh Chandra Bhagawati, HOD, Department of Banking, Sri. Sazzad Hussain, Dept. of English, Dr. Rinti Dutta, Department of Accountancy, Sri Prasanta Borah, Department of Computer Science and many other teaching staff of the college. Lastly, the vote of thanks and the concluding remark was delivered by Sri. Gopal Kumar Chetry, HOD & Associate Professor, Department of Accountancy, Lakhimpur Commerce College.
