Rabha Divas was observed at Lakhimpur Commerce College today to mark the 54th death anniversary of Kalaguru, Bishnu Prasad Rabha. Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of lakhimpur Commerce College paid floral tribute with the traditional lamp before the portrait of legendary. The objective of the meeting was explained by Prof. Mridusmita Hazarika of Assamese Department under the chairmanship of the Principal, Dr. Lohit Hazarika. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Tilak Chandra Deka, Head of Assamese Department. In his address Prof. Deka highlighted the vast works of the great artist and analyzed the relevance of Bishnu Rabha studies in the present day. Mrs. Himadri Deka Buragohain, office assistant and students of the college performed Rabha Sangeet. Office assistant. Hemanta Borah recited a poem, composed by Dr. Birendra Kumar Bhattacharya on Bishnu Rabha. Alina Das of B.Com 3rd semester recited a poem, composed by Prof. Saurav Chakravarty, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Prof. Kuldip Narayan Dutta of Political Science department delivered a speech in memory of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. Principal, Dr. Lohit Hazarika highlighted the works and songs of Bishnu prasad Rabha. The meeting was concluded by president's speech who explained the students about the importance of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha's contributions in the field of art, literature and culture. The entire programme was anchored by Dr. Bibha Dutta, Assistant Professor of Assamese and the programme was concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
